Before Media Matters, there was Group Research, Inc. (part two)

My new post at David Horowitz’s NewsReal blog looks at a group founded in 1962 to monitor “right wingers” (like the Chamber of Commerce!) — and silence conservative voices on the airwaves.

Teamsters Local 879

Someone said ‘race is a social construct’ and the early 1990s flashed before my eyes

Are The X-Files on? Where’s my menstrual cap?! “Daaaaaaaaay/after daaaaaaaaay…”

The same people who insist there is no such thing as, say, the “black race” insist upon constantly referring to the “black community“…

And they’re always white.

Rush Limbaugh taken to hospital with chest pains (UPDATE: ‘resting comfortably’)

I was just getting ready for bed when I heard that ominous “breaking news” chime on FOX News. They said Rush Limbaugh had been taken to hospital with chest pains and was in serious condition.

I turned the computer back on and set up a #rush hastag search colum in TweetDeck. What a mistake. It was literally 50/50 “God bless Rush/I hope he dies”.

So I guess I’ll be up all night hitting refresh every 30 seconds or more. But I don’t think I can cope with the Twitter jackoffs. I think I’ll hang out at HotAir and Fox.

As a HotAir commenter points out, he was talking about really bad back pains last week, and had to do the show standing up. I’m not a doctor, so…

Oh and Ace has a thread going too.

UPDATE: according to, he is “resting comfortably.” Walter Williams is sitting in for Rush today (as previously scheduled) so tune in at noon ET for more information.

Mark Steyn writes:

As many of you will know, Rush Limbaugh, a good friend to this site and a man who’s been enormously kind and generous to me, was admitted to hospital in Hawaii yesterday afternoon local time. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. He’s been the indispensable man these last 20 years, and we need him back at the golden EIB microphone and fighting fit for the next 20.

At, Ed Morrissey offers “prayers for a friend”:

I have a different perspective on Rush, based on our very first interaction, which had nothing at all to do with politics.  Rush allowed me to share this story over three years ago when it happened, and I’d like to share it with Hot Air readers now while asking them to pray for a speedy recovery for Rush.

Ann Coulter: new column + two new videos at my Ann Coulter site

Here’s a preview:

The “warning signs” exhibited by this particular passenger included the following:

His name was Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab.

He’s Nigerian.

He’s a Muslim.

His name was Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab.

He boarded a plane in Lagos, Nigeria.

He paid nearly $3,000 in cash for his ticket.

He had no luggage.

His name was Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab.

Ralph Peters speaks very slowly for all the remaining idiots

Ralph Peters writes:

Was it just a ticketing accident that led to a bombing attempt on Christmas? Was it all about blackout dates and frequent-flyer miles?

It wasn’t. You know it. And I know it. But our government refuses to know it. Despite vast databases crammed with evidence, our leaders — of both parties — still refuse to connect Islamist terrorism with Islam.

And the gay Democrats at HillBuzz are seriously pissed:

…every Muslim is indeed complicit in all of this since Muslims worldwide do not stand up and fight the terrorists in their midst.  Instead, they take to the airwaves demanding “understanding of Islam” and repeatedly say, “This is not Islam!” whenever Muslims murder people, or attempt to blow them into millions of pieces. Well, for several decades now we’ve heard “This is not Islam!” and we’re still waiting to see WHAT Islam is then.

Sure looks like a bunch of murdering lunatics hellbent on destroying the West to us.

We maintain this should not even be considered a religion, but should be treated like the National Socialist Party in Germany.  In the 40s, if Germans had tried to blow up airplanes, no one would be crying about needing to understand Germany or Nazism.  “This is not Nazi Germany!” would not be a valid defense for murderous sabotage.

Canadians forced to pay $3-million+ to Nazi-saluting Muslims on Toronto streets

Allah Uber Alles!

Lumpy Grumpy & Frumpy posted some nice shots of the Nazis for Gaza Freedom March in Toronto.

Something caught my eye in one of her photos which I posted below, notice the “flag staff”, it reads “Palestine House”.

I guess Nazi Ideology is part of the curriculum taught in their ” language instruction and immigrant settlement programs”. You know, the ones your taxes pay for.

This is taken from NGO Monitor’s submission to the CPCCA posted below.

Palestine House Educational (PHE) (Mississauga, Ontario): PHE received $747,314 from the Canadian government in 2008-9 for language instruction ; and Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has two agreements totaling over $3 million through 2010 for language instruction and immigrant settlement.

The same guy holding that flag and giving the Nazi salute is later seen waving the flag of Hezzbollah, which is an illegal terrorist organization according to the Canadian government.

Bernie Farber and The Lying Jackal and The Guy Who Is Suing Us — who all pride themselves on being brave “Nazi hunters” — were not there on Sunday to protest these street fascists.

Arnie and I were — and we are the same people those brave “Nazi hunters” have repeatedly called “racist right wingers.”

They will all get their Orders of Canada and their safe, high paying jobs and perks, and Arnie and I will keep getting sued, insulted, libelled and harrassed.

UPDATE: from the comments…

“Wow if you look at the PH banner located in the link below…

“You may notice that the map of Israel [on the Palestine House logo] is covered by the pali kaffiyeh. Yeah that’s education…

Before Media Matters, there was Group Research, Inc.

My latest post at David Horowitz’s NewsReal blog gives a nod to the book The Death of Talk Radio? where I learned more about the Fairness Doctrine — and the Kennedy/Johnson administrations’ efforts to demonize conservative activists and broadcasters.

Ed Anger says: ‘It’s Bush’s fault!’

America’s angriest columnist is angry:

Clinton tried to wreck America with HIS burning underwear, but Obama doesn’t need that. He’s ruining the country without even trying!

I don’t understand why the A-rabs don’t just make their own airline and let us fly on ours. They’ve got the money to do it. Then we could fly without having to walk around barefoot through x-ray machines, and they could put their goats in the carry on, and their wives in the cargo hold, and we’d all be happy!

Why do liberals insist upon forming their worldviews…

time and time again, upon the writings (however “brilliant”) of the mentally ill?

Shelby Steele: ‘America’s new race problem’

Black Male Privilege: Steele gets to say what I don’t…

America’s primary race problem today is our new “sophistication” around racial matters. Political correctness is a compendium of sophistications in which we join ourselves to obvious falsehoods (“diversity”) and refuse to see obvious realities (the irrelevance of diversity to minority development).

I would argue further that Barack Obama’s election to the presidency of the United States was essentially an American sophistication, a national exercise in seeing what was not there and a refusal to see what was there—all to escape the stigma not of stupidity but of racism.

When blacks become humanly visible, when their true beliefs are known, their mask shatters and their symbiotic bond with whites is broken.
Think of Tiger Woods, now so humanly visible. Or think of Bill Cosby, who in recent years has challenged the politically correct view and let the world know what he truly thinks about the responsibility of blacks in their own uplift.

It doesn’t matter that Mr. Woods lost his bargainer’s charm through self-destructive behavior and that Mr. Cosby lost his through a courageous determination to individuate—to take public responsibility for his true convictions. The appeal of both men—as objects of white identification—was diminished as their human reality emerged. Many whites still love Mr. Cosby, but they worry now that expressing their affection openly may identify them with his ideas, thus putting them at risk of being seen as racist.

Any questions?

Freud saved from gas chambers by… Nazi admirer.

Terrorism should be the biggest Canadian story of 2009, but isn’t

Canadians are more obsessed about imaginary flu epidemics than real threats.

Brian Lilley writes:

In March we had the conviction of Momin Khawaja, a Canadian born and raised jihadi who lived in an east end Ottawa suburb, one I know well, frequented by my friends and their children. Khawaja was given a 10 and a half-year sentence for his part in a British plot to target nightclubs, shopping districts and other high traffic locations in the U.K. In October, Said Namouh, a Morrocan native who had settled in Trois-Rivieres was convicted under the Anti-Terrorism Act for disseminating material to promote the global Islamic jihad. (…)

There were also five convictions in the Toronto 18 case, that was the 2006 plot distrupted by the RCMP.

When the plot was made public there were scoffs that these young men had planned to storm Parliament, many saying they could not have accomplished the task, a gaggle of Greenpeace activists proved in December that the Toronto men could have breached security as 20 green activists made it past security to take over the rooftop of West Block on Parliament Hill.

In 2009 we also saw the disintegration of the security certificate system. A part of Canada’s immigration process, security certificates date back to the 1970s and are meant to remove people, non-citizens, who are deemed not to have committed a crime but based on intelligence are seen as a security threat to this country and therefore inadmissible to Canada. For the last 7 years many media reports have stated that the government is holding several men on these certificates but will not charge them or bring them to trial.

But Kathy, you racist, Canadian Muslims ARE assimilating!

We’ve even got one playing pro hockey — and blending his very special culture with our own!

I’m part of the ’40 Best Political Quotes of 2009′

I was just about to write a jokey email to John Hawkins, scolding him for not including me — and then he included me, along with Steyn, Coulter, future President Peter King and Thomas Sowell! Thanks, John.
