The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms is a worthless piece of crap.
It was created by a bunch of mediocre lawyers and craven professional politicians, some of whom were even Frenchmen.
These people weren’t smart enough to tell me what to do.

And here’s the insidious problem that their misunderstanding has saddled Canada with. Since the politicians who drafted the Charter saw Lochner in a negative light, they wanted to ensure that the Charter could not produce a similar case in Canada. They assumed–incorrectly–that property rights were the problem. As a result, they intentionally excluded property rights from the Charter… in part because of their misunderstanding of Lochner.
