Once again, George Bernard Shaw revealed himself to be nowhere near as clever as he and his admirers believe. His play Mrs Warren’s Profession was about this very question.
However, in that thesis, Shaw revealed his own naivete.
(And indeed, he was a virgin into his thirties):
Men don’t pay prostitutes for sex.
They pay them to LEAVE.
They “pay” their wives to STAY.
But the fascist sympathizer and “genius” George Bernard Shaw has a taxpayer sponsored annual theater festival, and I don’t.
