Ya gotta hand it to the Indians: they DO use every part of the welfare check

The grandparents, who represented themselves without a lawyer, denied starving the girl. They claimed that all three children in the home could eat as much as they wanted.

However, the grandfather maintained that without “proper financial help,” they couldn’t always afford good food, and blamed Social Services and their band for not properly supporting them with her care.
