Don’t mention the wogs! 30+ year old ‘Fawlty Towers’ episode censored as ‘racist’

The offending words are placed into the mouth of the show’s resident “Blimp,” and are clearly meant to show how racist he is oh soooooo sleeeepppyyyy zzzzzzzzzzzz blah blah blah

The line in this news story that should offend people is this one, from the BBC spokesman:

…it was decided to make some minor changes, with the consent of John Cleese’s management…

Do we all become the thing we, er, hate?

UPDATE: Amazingly RELATEDFrom the nation that perfected comedic cross-dressing:

BBC seeks comedy scripts for sitcoms and sketch shows that support positive transgender roles

So expect them to censor every other Monty Python re-run now, too.

With Cleese’s permission, no doubt.

By the way: “Are we finished with Germany?”

The Germans in that Fawlty Towers episode are portrayed in the best possible light, the only civilized people in the hotel.

But if this new book is to believed, they’re still scum.
