UPDATE: Nicely done — a valuable perspective:

Reagan’s name was offered at regular intervals to boost morale as well, although American Enterprise Institute writer James Pethokoukis hit on the dilemma of invoking Reagan—not everyone remembers him personally anymore.  I, for one, retain no memories of the 1980s, which is too bad because they sound epic.
