North Carolina State Senator, R.C. Soles, Jr., has been indicted for shooting one of two intruders at his home last August.
Soles has made a career of advocating against gun ownership for the general public, an ironic fact that has been picked up by pro-gun proponents.
This is not the first time the 74-year-old Democrat has had to defend himself against attackers. Soles, who has a law practice in Tabor City, has recently had a number of run-ins with clients and ex-clients. He was forced to pepper-spray former client Stacey Scott when the man appeared at Soles’ home. Scott claims he was molested when he was 15 years old by Soles, a charge that is still being investigated.
Soles says he will not be seeking re-election this year.
