Later at home, Hill discovered that she had captured most of the incident on videotape and it was then that she discovered the power of internet blogs. She uploaded her video to the internet and asked for help in identifying the man shown in the tape.
After a few bloggers featured the video on their sites, Hill received an email tip that helped detectives identify and locate the man pictured in the video.
“I was deeply shaken by what had happened,” Hill said. “At the time, no one came to my aid, but this has restored my faith in my fellow Canadians and given me a real-life experience of the goodwill that exists in the blogging community.”
Hill said that she believes she was targeted because of her Zionism and she wants other Zionists to take precautions when they attend politically charged rallies or events.
The police said that the man had been arrested, photographed, fingerprinted and advised of the charges, then released on his own recognizance with several conditions.
