Hitchens: Ban the burkha.
At a time when niqabs have become a controversial symbol of the debate over accommodation in Quebec, Parkdale Elementary School in St. Laurent is holding its first Multicultural Week next week – and moms wearing niqabs will be warmly welcomed.
“We have several students who wear hijabs and mothers who wear niqabs,” said principal Itrat Ahmad. (…)
Ahmad said the school, with 330 students, has 30 to 40 countries represented among its student body. With so many cultures intermingling, she decided it was a good time to celebrate all of the students’ traditions and cultures.

Your post shows what very little you know about Islam, or the Niqab. The Niqab really has nothing to do with Islam. It’s more of a cultural garment than anything else. Contrary to what you may think, the women who wear it here, wear it by choice, not by force. How many Niqab wearing women have you spoken to? Stop the hate, and get into the 21st century.…….better yet, get into the 20th century first.
